What are Qualified Charities in Arizona?
Arizona’s charitable tax credits reflect a policy choice rooted in community impact. A decentralized approach to social welfare, where the state incentivizes private giving to qualified charities rather than expanding direct government programs. The idea is to empower residents to direct a portion of their tax dollars to organizations that serve vulnerable populations.
Arizona recognizes two types of certified charities for tax credit purposes:

There is no minimum limit. These credits can be claimed in addition to school and other tax credits.
How to Find Arizona Charities that are Qualified?
Find certified organizations through these resources:
- AZTaxCreditList.com (this website!) – Offers a free searchable, categorized list of QCOs and QFCOs with direct links to each nonprofit’s website. View List (sync'd with AZDOR's, but with more charity information)
- Arizona Department of Revenue (AZDOR) – Provides official guidelines, downloadable PDF name and address lists of QCOs and QFCOs. Download List
- AZ Tax Credit Funds – A organization the markets QCOs / QFCOs that are able to pay an advertisement placement fee, and it collects then passes through all donations indirectly. Visit Site
How do I claim the Tax Credit?
Always consult your tax preparer for all advice, but for Arizona residents that owe state income taxes, using these tax credits is easy!
- Donate directly to a certified QCO and QFCO (both can be used)
- Keep your receipt and note the charity organization’s five-digit code.
- File Form 321 (QCO) or Form 352 (QFCO) with your Arizona income tax return.
You can even make donations up to April 15 and apply them to the previous year.
